This informative monograph will be read with satisfaction both by clinicians and by hematologists. Dr. Forkner draws freely on his own experience, which is well founded in pathology as well as in clinical material, and he covers the hematologic literature with gratifying brevity and discrimination. He deals with the huge leukemic problem, presenting a thorough discussion of the fundamental aspects of the etiology, the pathologic physiology and the pathologic findings before taking up the detailed clinical picture and the hematologic features. An extensive bibliography is given.

Although no attempt to brief the material can be made here, to mention a few points of interest may stimulate the reader to look further.
