This book describes the method of treating infantile paralysis and cerebral diplegia which was developed by the author in Queensland during the past sixteen years.

The chief thesis of the book is the importance of beginning physical therapy early rather than using immobilization. Although it is put forward as new, the method has been used by a large number of persons in this country.

This is an excellent book on physical therapy, describing in detail the method of inducing development of the various groups of muscles. A good deal of apparatus is recommended. Possibly one should question the advice to treat contractures by using an apparatus but a few minutes a day. It is generally considered that it should be used for a longer time.
