It is the purpose of this textbook to present in an organized and systematic manner the accepted scientific findings in regard to several types of exceptional children, in order that the teacher may have a better comprehension of, and consequently be a better teacher for, these children.

The first chapter is devoted to the elementary anatomy of the nervous system; the second contains an excellent description of injury at birth and its problems, and the third takes up postencephalitic children. Chapter 4 describes some of the well known ideas on enuresis. The albinistic, "pre-schizophrenic" (whatever that is) child and the child afflicted with pubertas praecox are described. Chapters are devoted to premature, bilingual, eidetic and congenitally syphilitic children.
