This well written monograph is an excellent presentation of the whole picture of juvenile dementia paralytica. The twelve chapters have been published separately in various medical journals. The study is based on 43 cases personally observed and 610 cases recorded in the literature. The author included only the cases from the literature which included proper and sufficient data to substantiate the diagnosis. There is a summary at the end of each chapter. The one previous monograph on this subject, by Toni Schmidt-Kroepelin, was limited to a discussion of 40 cases of her own and did not include a discussion of psychology, treatment or pathology.
The monograph is a real contribution to the subject of juvenile dementia paralytica and should prove especially valuable to any person concerned with the management of patients with this condition.
