GENERAL

Pediatric Number of the Chinese Medical Journal.—The Chinese Medical Journal, the official organ of the medical profession in China, published at Shanghai, devoted the April number to pediatrics in China. The number is about twice the usual size and contains original articles, clinical reports and discussions, topics of special interest, statistics and surveys, addresses and reviews, articles on hygiene and public health, clinical notes and memoranda and much other material. The editorial is on the "National Children's Year" which is being celebrated throughout China in 1936. Dr. H. II. Kung, president of the National Child Welfare Association in China, states that "there is no country today that does not realize the importance of child welfare, for the intelligence and good citizenship of the youths of today are measured by the amount of energy and time that is spent on their education and welfare when they are children, . . .
