Sudden death as a result of uncomplicated paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia is uncommon. In only three of sixty-nine reported cases did the patient die during a paroxysm. It is highly probable that in these cases death was actually due to terminal ventricular fibrillation, a condition which may be so fleeting as to escape notice. Typical epileptiform seizures occurred in only three of the reported cases. We are reporting in this paper an unusual instance of paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia, starting at the age of 3, giving rise to frequent epileptiform attacks and finally to sudden death during a seizure. We had occasion to study the patient over a period of five years.
