Johan F. Höckert (1826-1866), the Swedish artist, painted a Lapland interior which is of great interest from a pediatric standpoint. The suspended cradle with its covered hood and rope binder is of a somewhat different model from those usually seen. The hands are left free, but the child cannot turn and must stay on its back. Felix Würtz describes such binding, "whereby the inlaid Child is packed up like a pack of wares."
The picture is in Stockholm, and the photograph is by the Nationalmusei Fotografiförsäljning.
