This volume, which comes as a result of the work of the Committee on Growth and Development of the White House Conference, is an outstanding contribution to the medical literature.
In days when we are receiving so many assurances that this or that type of food is just the thing for all our ailments, it is refreshing and enlightening to have a group of the most outstanding men in the country call attention to the fact that while there are a few things we do know, there are many things we do not know. The care with which all evidence has been valued and the conservatism with which it has been placed in this volume merit praise that could scarcely be too much.
