If there are many books on diseases of children in Spanish prior to 1800, they are difficult to find. Luis Lobera of Avila wrote one, Francisco Perez another and Damian Carbon, of Mallorca, gave quite an extended account of the care of children and of their diseases in his "Libro del arte de las comadres." All of these are rare. A trip to Spain would doubtless lead to the discovery of others.

Another book of great interest for various reasons is the "Method and Order of Curing the Diseases of Children," which the title page states was "composed by the Doctor Geronimo Soriano, Physician of the City of Teruel of the Kingdom of Aragon." It was printed, "con licencia," in Zaragosa by Domingo Gascon, Printer ofthe Royal Hospital and General of Our Lady of Grace in the year 1690, alongside of Antonio Cabeças, opposite San Anton.
