The author believes that the so-called transitory dyspepsia of the infant is really a symptom of vagotonia. The characteristic symptoms of spasticity, colic, vomiting, hyperexcitability and pylorospasm are fully described in the initial chapters. The following five chapters are devoted to the physiology and pathologic changes of the condition. The final chapters consider a differential diagnosis and treatment. The book is interesting and well written.
