True congenital heart-block is rare. In 1920, Carter and Howland1 reviewed the seven reasonably established cases previously reported and added one of their own. In 1921, White, Eustis and Kerr2 added two more from the literature reported since the publication of Carter and Howland's review, and gave detailed accounts of two cases of theirs, one of which was undoubtedly congenital. In recording another case, Romberg and White3 (1924) mentioned the cases of Bravo y Frias4 (1922) and of Barbier, Lebée and Mouquin5 (1922). Fourteen other cases have been recorded in the literature, one each by Meyer6 (1923), Nobécourt7 (1924), Wilson and Grant8 (1925), McIntosh9 (1927), Lukin and Frey10 (1927), Davis11 (1927), Gibson12 (1927), Aldrich13 (1927), Shapiro14 (1927), Haverschmidt15 (1928), Nisse16 (1928), and Perotti17 (1928), and two by Fleming and Stevenson18 (1928).
