The author reports one case of aplastic anemia in which the patient was treated with liver extract. He endeavors to prove that the efficacy of liver in the treatment is due to a powerful hormone, which normally controls the bone-marrow hemopoietic function. The book is divided into two parts; the first deals with the author's own case in detail and the second part is a résumé of the cases reported in the literature, which is used as internal evidence for the presence of this hormone in the liver.
