We thank Dr Lopes for his careful review of our study.1 As he surmised, in Table 3 of our article,1 the total number of patients in each age group was inadvertently used to compute 95% confidence intervals for the sensitivities, rather than the number of children with pneumonia. We apologize for this, and hope that the error did not confuse readers. The correctedTableis presented; the normal theory method or exact method (for small sample sizes) for obtaining confidence intervals around a point estimate of a binomial distribution was used.2 . . .
