We, too, are pleased by the contributions that the ARCHIVES has made to the medical informatics literature. It is noteworthy that from a historical perspective, the American Journal of Diseases of Children had a reputation for publishing landmark articles dealing with medical informatics issues of interest to pediatricians, such as the initial references describing the MEDITEL system.^1,2 The Archives appears to be carrying on that tradition, which takes on special significance in the managed care era, when there is a burgeoning interest in medical informatics by most health care providers and administrators.

The letter by Drs Spooner and Traczy-Harnoch alludes to yet another topic that is undoubtedly of interest to this audience; namely, uses of the Internet for pediatricians. Dr Spooner is to be congratulated for his excellent article, "On-line Resources for Pediatricians" that appeared in the Archives last year.³ We eagerly await other informatics articles published in . . .
