LIKE OTHER Pediatric journals, the Archives is not a politically charged journal. Its major goal is to report research findings that will ultimately help improve the health of children and adolescents, either by shedding light on how they come to be sick or stay healthy, or by helping pediatricians and others who care for young people improve the health care system.

Still musing over last month's election results, however, I cannot help but wonder whether the health of our next generation will be jeopardized unless the Archives and other medical journals and their readership become more political. I use "political" in the sense "of relating to, or concerned with the making as distinguished from the administration of government policy" (as defined by Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary).
