Bev received her medical education at Duke University, Durham, NC. She underwent her residency training at Stanford (Calif) University and completed her cardiology education at Babies Hospital, Columbia University, New York. Her peripatetic career continued with research training at the University of Washington, Seattle, and the Robert B. Green Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, Tex, where she was director of the heart station. She joined the faculty at Washington and became the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics in 1973. Seven years later, she assumed the chairmanship at the University of California, Irvine, her present position. Dr Morgan was the recipient of a Research Career Development Award from the National Institues of Health for five years. She has been much honored in her career and has been an active participant in significant national organizations.
