The honor of receiving the Abraham Jacobi Award is indeed tremendous, and how lucky I am to come to the lovely city of Toronto to receive it! When I look at the list of my predecessors upon whom the Award has been conferred, I feel quite out of place. Perhaps the Award is because I have lived so long, moved around so much, and so greatly enjoyed my work and my life.
On such emotional occasions, one thinks of one's family, teachers, and friends and of the fortunate circumstances that have permitted one's development.
