To the Editor.

—It can be hoped that the article "Concealed Penis: Another complication of Circumcision" by Trier and Drach¹ will provoke another round of comments condemning this procedure. Many of these comments, sometimes humorous and frivolous and sometimes deadly serious, have enlivened many letters to the editor. A recent plaintive letter appeared in "Dear Abby" from a circumcized physician who said that if his parents were alive he would sue them.

It is quite evident that complications of this operation are not very infrequent—the authors had no difficulty in discovering sufficient instances to support their thesis. Doubtless a great many of these complications escape reporting for there is a certain understandable reluctance to report one's own bad results.
