Error in Text and Figure Legend

Arch Pediatr Adolesc Med. 2002;156:1176.

In the article titled "Predictors of Change on the Smoking Uptake Continuum Among Adolescents" published in the June issue of the ARCHIVES (2002;156:581-587), the first and second sentences in the "Results" subsection of the "Abstract" on page 581 should have read as follows: "Of all never smoking adolescents, 32% were susceptible smokers (have never smoked, but might) with younger adolescents almost 3 times more likely than older adolescents to be susceptible. Female subjects were 50% more likely than male subjects to be susceptible."

On page 584, the legend for Figure 2 should have read as follows: "Percentage of all response categories for those who never smoked who are susceptible and all former smokers who might smoke in the next year." On the same page, right-hand column, lines 2 through 4 should have read as follows: "The greatest proportion of regular smokers was among white adolescents (26.5%), more than 14 percentage points greater than the next highest group (Hispanics, 12.1%).

On page 585, "Comment" section, left-hand column, lines 5 through 7 should have read as follows: "As these data indicate, approximately one third of all adolescents who have never smoked can be defined as susceptible."
