Way To Go, Coach! is a great resource for coaches at all levels. Although it is aimed at the volunteer coach, it contains good advice for any coach. As a former athlete, I wish my coaches had followed the principles in this book. Basing their recommendations on more than 20 years of research in the field of sports psychology, the authors tell youth coaches what to do, not just what not to do. The book includes excellent quotations from coaching greats to illustrate the authors' points. It is well organized and easy to read, with lots of practical suggestions on making a sports experience positive for athletes. Key principles are sprinkled in the margins throughout this book to emphasize important points. These same key principles are summarized in the last chapter, titled "Coaches Clipboard."
