We tumble into the station minutes before our train, scramble downstairs and through the balky ticket chutes to the quai. Silence, then down a little ways the lanky young man suited, with briefcase begins explosive expletives in French, into his fisted hand.
He glances our way, observes the children staring and walking away down the platform fist to mouth, bobbing and bubbling. What was that? The children ask. I could respond, Tourette's but only say Boys, it's a man who has a hard time controlling himself. And I say, sotto voce Hey, buddy, wait up! Wait for me!
