New Directions for the ARCHIVES

Arch Pediatr Adolesc Med. 2001;155:11-12.

Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 150 words of the full text and any section headings.

IN THIS issue of the ARCHIVES, we publish our revised instructions to authors. There are a number of changes and new features we would like to call to the attention of both prospective authors as well as our readers.

  • Improving the timely reporting of important new findings. We continue to work at decreasing the time between manuscript submission, acceptance, and publication in the ARCHIVES. We encourage authors to submit manuscripts electronically, allowing us to send the electronic copy to peer reviewers, which should facilitate the process. In addition, we will be instituting Archives Express. This will provide a rapid, expedited peer review, processing, and publication of articles with great clinical or public health importance. Studies eligible for this expedited process are those of high scientific quality that might have an immediate important effect on the health of children and adolescents.
