This monograph by Panayiotopoulos concerns benign childhood partial seizures. Despite considerable progress in epileptology in recent years, only rolandic seizures are widely known and bring the most rewarding experience to the everyday practice of pediatric neurologists and epileptologists. Panayiotopoulos' monograph is not only about seizures with centrotemporal spikes, or rolandic seizures as they are commonly known, but also about seizures with occipital spikes, which are less well known and still debated. The author devotes most of the book to a detailed review of all of the literature and his own 25-year prospective study on occipital seizures and epilepsies.
