This handy, pocket-sized, pediatric book, divided into 18 sections, is priced and sized similarly. The book contains numerous pictureshalf of the pages are pictorial and the brief text accompanies the photographs on the opposite side of the corresponding page. It seems geared to medical students and is somewhat successful in achieving this objective. It can be read in just under 2 hours; however, it is composed of very basic information and the intelligent and curious medical student may be bored and dissatisfied after the first reading. Although space would have permitted in most instances, the authors do not discuss differential diagnosis or recommend a workup of any disease. Despite this, it may have a limited appeal for those pursuing training in pediatrics or physicians already in practice.
