I read with interest the very erudite letter of Dr Elfenbein, "The Physics of Bicycle Falls Revisited,"1 in which he questions the explanation of Dr Williams.2 Obviously both of these physicians overlooked the correct explanation, which can be given by any second grader. A bicycle falls because it is too tired.
