Bone mineral content was determined in 131 children, 1 to 6 years of age,
in a prospectively designed cross-sectional study. Using multiple linear
regression analysis to control for individual factors, bone mineral content
was higher in black children compared with white children, was lower among
female children compared with male children, increased with age, and
increased with weight.
