Fatal respiratory syncytial virus infection in severe combined immunodeficiency syndrome

We encountered two cases of fatal respiratory syncytial virus infection in
infants. Both patients had severe anatomic abnormalities in the thymus,
probably due to severe combined immunodeficiency syndrome.
