Abstract
• Serum concentrations of thyroxine (T₄), triiodothyronine (T₃), T₃-resin uptake, thyroid-stimulating hormone, and thyroxine-binding globulin were measured in 2- to 3-week-old babies, 22 fed human milk and 25 fed formula. Levels of T₄ and T₃ were significantly greater in breast-fed babies than in formula-fed babies.
