Abstract
Serum concentrations of thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3), T3-resin uptake, thyroid-stimulating hormone, and thyroxine-binding globulin were measured in 2- to 3-week-old babies, 22 fed human milk and 25 fed formula. Levels of T4 and T3 were significantly greater in breast-fed babies than in formula-fed babies.
