A 13-year-old boy with nocturnal paresthesias of the hands was shown to
have bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome by electrodiagnosis. Surgical
findings included thickening of the transverse carpal ligament and local
anomalies of tendon and muscle. Surgical correction produced prompt relief.
