Abstract
Recent observations indicate that the immunologic system may be manipulated to prevent or treat cancer under certain conditions in animal and man. Various experimental models and clinical trials currently under investigation continue to yield data that may further define the role of immune mechanisms in the control of malignant neoplasms. This review summarizes current data related to the immunologic system and cancer.
