Abstract
Acromegaly due to an eosinophilic adenoma is reported in a 9 -year-old boy. His predominant symptoms were related to vision. Only partial resection of the tumor was possible. Plasma growth hormone and insulin levels measured before and after surgery were high. Low plasma thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels were found, and no puberty changes were present. A postoperative metyrapone (Metopirone) test showed that adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) was still being secreted. Diabetes insipidus was not present.
