The Antistreptolysin O Latex Test

A Microadaptation Screening Method

Blaise E. Favara, MD; Barbara Hoyum, MT; Ralph A. Franciosi, MD

Am J Dis Child. 1972;123(5):462-464.

Abstract

A latex agglutination slide test for antistreptolysin O and a microadaptation of that test designed for pediatric office use were compared to a standard tube dilution hemolysis method. Both slide tests proved to be valuable screening devices with no false-negative reactions and a false-positive rate of about 33%.
